The EPIC Team is Growing!
Welcome to the team, Vakhtang!
Vakhtang was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in a family of scientists and engineers. He knew early on he'd pursue a career focusing on math. Although initially being interested in finance, Vakhtang became fond of classical mechanics and decided to follow in the footsteps of his grandfathers and become a structural engineer.
Vakhtang got a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Arizona State University, where he took active roles in the ASCE student chapter. Vakhtang Served as the captain of the ASCE ASU Steel bridge team and took part in fabrication for three years of his study. During college, he passed the F.E. exam and received his EIT certification at graduation.
After college, Vakhtang moved to New York and joined the workforce as a special inspector. Over the years Vakhtang attained certification in Structural Steel Bolting, Welding, Concrete sampling, testing and reinforcement, Masonry, Spray applied Fireproofing & Intumescent paint, and Soils. Vakhtang passed the PE exam and attained his Professional Engineering license in New York and New Jersey.
Having a structural engineering background and designing structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, gives Vakhtang a better understanding of the items that are to be inspected in his daily work. Recently he used his expertise to conduct a case study about existing New York townhouses in a publication issued by the Structural Engineers Association of New York. Vakhtang is a certified Cal OES Safety Assessment Program Evaluator and is actively pursuing other certifications in engineering-related fields.
