Welcome to the team, Luis!

Luis was born in Jaú, SP, Brazil. His interest in engineering was developed from an early age, as he often visited the dockyard where his father designed ferries to travel the Tietê River. At the age of 10, Luis moved to The Woodlands, TX, a suburb of Houston, with his family. From there, Luis attended NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. At Tandon, Luis worked on multiple class projects with a focus on material science, mechanical design and analysis, and fluid dynamics.

Luis started at EPIC in January 2024 as a Special Inspector, coming from experience in the construction and inspection industries. He is being guided by Joshua Ramcharan, Special Inspector, and Molly Glenn, P.E., Director of Special Inspections. His goals are to pass the International Code Council “Commercial Mechanical Inspector” exam, earn his EIT certification, and eventually his P.E. certification.

In his free time, Luis enjoys trying new recipes (he is an avid collector of cookbooks), watching sports, and planning trips. Luis wants to see the world, as well as become a Master Inspector.
